In two years we’ve designed and planned 39 events including four weddings (this one print published in The Knot magazine just last week) and a gorgeous debutante party. We’ve built the beginnings of our lifestyle brand and we’re so excited to announce we’ve just joined the invitation-only RewardStyle team. We’ve got big ideas and a lot of work to do on the RewardStyle front, so follow along at https://www.liketoknow.it/clochedesigns. We’ve won five Antonian Awards including “Best Wedding,” “Best Social Event” and “Best Non-Profit Event.” As business partners we’ve lifted each other up through challenging personal times…meningitis and a double mastectomy, all while caring for our husbands and five kids at four different schools between our two families. It’s been a wild ride with its fair share of ups and downs, but most of all we’re feeling incredibly grateful for our wonderful clients and for each other. One thing is for certain as we look ahead, our friendship has proven absolutely unshakable, a most solid foundation to deliver the extraordinary client service and creativity that is the heartbeat of our brand.Debbi Chesney, our local Community Chaplain, stopped by this week with Jesus for birthday cake, champagne and to pray over us. I’ve known Debbi most of my life, with fond memories of her leading my high school Bible study many moons ago. It’s my heartfelt privilege to share her thoughtful and beautiful words. As you soak them in, we humbly ask that you lift us up as we embark on year three.“Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.”
∼ Colossians 3:23
God, You know what Cloche Designs does—the same thing You do. You take something messy and make it pretty. You take chaos and bring calm. Just like in Genesis, You brought calm to chaos. You take one million different details and create something perfect. You make beauty from ashes.
On their second birthday, we think about what a cloche by definition does:
A cloche protects;
A cloche prevents heavy rain and wind from harm—like an umbrella, like your wings, God, which is where you tell us to hide;
A cloche is like a fortress, where you say you will protect us;
A cloche covers the rock that you said we can depend on and build on.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ”
∼ Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus, let your light shine bright from this Cloche. Not covered under a dark bowl. We ask that you continue to show your presence here at each and every event, in each and every detail. When guests arrive, let them see your glory on these girls faces as opposed to the real life sweat and tears that go into their work. Let them see:
Your attention to details.
We will radiate peace, grace, mercy and your perfect order in this office in all that will be spoken, thought, decided and done within these walls. Outside of these walls, our work will have Your name on it.
Lord, thank You for the gifts You have blessed us with. We commit to using them responsibly in Your honor. Give us a fresh supply of strength to do our job. Anoint our projects, ideas and energy so that even our smallest accomplishments may bring You glory.
Lord, when we are confused, guide us. When we are burned out, infuse us with the light of the Holy Spirit. When our health is weak, give us Your strength. May the work that we do and the way that we do it bring faith, joy and a smile to all whom we come into contact with. Bless all who work here and those we work for. Make us grateful for their gifts and patient with their shortcomings. Just like them, when we walk in the door, we bring our share of both.
May we never forget that all good and perfect gifts come from You. So, when we are presenting the perfectly detailed event, may it be YOUR magic that we clearly see. You are our audience.
Thank you for Cloche Designs, and for the opportunity for another year to serve Your children.
In Your mighty name,
